Licensing for events

How do you deal with licensing for events? Do you have to get a license for the town the event is in or are there permits just for the event?

    Well I have an SF outcall license, so when I work in CA I consider it outcall. However, I have been unable to work the 3HO yoga festival because they require a NM state license. Depends on the festival.
