Can someone please tell me what Burning Man is. I've heard lots about it, but never been. Is there fire spinning, drumming, poi, music. Am I in the ball park here? I need some serious enlightening about this. I may want in. I'm a drummer and have some serious urges going on.

Sat, March 8, 2008 - 5:47 PMI think you would be better off googling it, or just looking up burningman.com than asking here. Yes, it's all of the above, but those things are not the point. -

Re: Burning Man
Sun, March 9, 2008 - 8:35 AMAhh... thank you kindly. I did search it and found a website. I still have to read up more on it. It seems very much like creating a space for love, creativity, and spiritual growth. Something I'm very interested in. Someday I will have to experience it. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences. I know it is different for each person as it would be for me, but just wondering what it's like in general. -

Re: Burning Man
Mon, March 17, 2008 - 11:18 AMBurning Man is a lot of what you make it. After my first year I sort of thought of it like a mix between every festival I have ever been to, music AND art AND free expression AND everything else. But really that is just a part of it. There's a lot of BM tribes on here you might want to check out. It is, or can be, the hardest working vacation you have ever had filled with the best and worst times.

Re: Burning Man
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 11:05 AMIn a nut shell, Burning man's goal is to Sacrifice your Art to the Burning Man; to have No money on the Playa; no garbage left behind, and Piss Clear is one of their primary mottos. These things are what makes BM unique. In a nutshell.

Re: Burning Man
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 11:12 PM2007 was my 1st Burn and not the last! Burning Man to me, was the most out of self experience. Between the long hours of making a sick Ice Berg Art Car , Getting involved with veterans of the Burn, and putting Blood sweat and Tears into a project that others and self will remember and enjoy for a life time ( The Build up to the Burn was the most amazing feeling) .Having some idea of what I was about to experience but when I got there not any clue at all.) Living among the elements that are all against you no matter how prepared you are can be a huge awakening of how Large this world is. Just Driving up to B.R.C. as we sat in mad traffic, I felt pressure, I felt tears, I had a knot in my throat for quite some time, and then we came upon the entry, and after that a whole world of sharing, caring, Love Ultimate Love. A slight fear that this place could destroy you if you let it by the elements. So much that is not even words could explain the Event. A must do. K thats all for now.
Cheers to Life,
Namaste
